A TechMan alternative that publishes its price

TechMan is a UK-built cloud garage management system for service and repair workshops. It is sold in four tiers - Starter, Lite, Advanced and Pro - through a demo and a quote rather than a published price list: as checked on 18 July 2026, its pricing page names each tier and what the tier includes, but does not state a monthly price for any of them.
Motion Bookings is an alternative that puts the number on the page. It is £39 to £149 a month per garage location, with a 14-day free trial that needs no card, no setup fee and no minimum term. Every TechMan fact on this page is taken from TechMan's own website, with the date we checked it, so you can go and check it yourself.
What TechMan publishes
TechMan's pricing page sets out a tier ladder, where each tier adds to the one below it. What it does not carry is a price.
- Four tiers: Starter, Lite, Advanced and Pro
- Starter includes estimates, invoicing, reports, MOT and service reminders, and a diary limited to 3 columns
- Lite adds unlimited Autodata access
- Advanced adds tablet access, digital check sheets, paperless job cards and a courtesy car calendar
- Pro adds the web booking tool, telephone integration and a car sales module
- Two commercial structures: a Partner plan with no upfront cost but a longer commitment, and a Flexi plan on a 30-day rolling contract with an upfront onboarding, setup and data migration cost
Where the two genuinely differ
Both are cloud systems built for UK workshops, and both cover the day-to-day. The real differences are commercial rather than featural, and they are the ones worth checking before you commit.

What we are deliberately not claiming
Several third-party blogs and software directories quote specific TechMan monthly prices. When we checked on 18 July 2026 those figures did not appear anywhere on TechMan's own site, and the ones we found disagreed with each other, so we have left them out entirely rather than repeat a number we cannot stand behind.
The same goes for the contract and exit-fee stories that circulate about various garage systems. We are not repeating anecdotes about another company's contracts. If a fact is not published by the vendor, it is not in the table above.

TechMan does not publish a monthly price. We have chosen not to repeat the prices quoted by third-party blogs, because they are not published by TechMan and they contradict one another.
How much does Motion Bookings cost?

Is Motion Bookings a like-for-like TechMan replacement?
It covers the day-to-day an independent garage runs on: bookings, MOT reminders, invoicing, the workshop board, customer and vehicle records, staff rota and wages. TechMan carries some things we do not, including a car sales module and telephone integration. If those matter to you, TechMan may be the better fit, and the free trial is the cheapest way to find out.
Do I have to sit through a demo to try Motion Bookings?
No. Start a 14-day free trial with no card, set up your services and put real bookings through it. If you want a walkthrough you can have one, but nothing is gated behind it.
